Our wedding day began with a little bit of rain but it ended beautifuly by night. Actually, in all honesty the reception went by so fast I barely remember any details other than the speeches, the highlight of the evening. Beautiful speeches read by Mr. Apple, our Best Man Lee, and Maid of Honor Susan. We’ve gotten so much wonderful feedback from our guests, they especially loved the speeches. Both Mr. Apple and I wrote up the speech but he’s a much better speaker than I so he was given this responsibility. Not a very difficult responsbility since he wasn’t at all nervous. Here are some photos and a small snippet of each speech….
“Good Evening everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying themselves so far this evening. Miss Apple and I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to those who have helped us along the way.”
To Miss Apples’ mom, its so nice to know I can now call you “Mom”.
“Miss Apple and I would like to thank you for your love and support. Coming to America 30 years ago was not easy for you. With barely a grade school education, your inner strength, determination and drive led you to create many successful businesses. You’ve done so much good not only for your family but also for your extended family and friends. You continue to inspire us. We love you. “
As you can tell it was a very emotional day for me and one of our guests in the background…-)
To my father,
“Thank you for teaching me right from wrong, thank you for raising me and teaching me how to be a good citizen of the world. It’s very hard to live up to a man that everyone in my family compares to a Buddha but I hope that I can try to someday be as enlightened as you. Anyone who knows my father knows that he loves to exercise and meditate in the early morning in sub-zero temperatures. I’m still waiting for the day when I can catch him levitating in his backyard. Thanks dad for helping me to realize that the measure of a man is not how much money he makes but what is in his heart and that it is his good intentions that brings upon happiness.”

“Finally, the princess of the evening, my wonderful new bride, Miss Apple. I can’t wait to travel the world with you and experience all that it has to offer. Today is an important day for me and I’m glad that my entire family is able to see first hand the reason that I am so happy. It is because I have a wonderful wife. Honey, I love you with all my heart.”
(psss..I didn’t help him with this one – this was all him -))
Best Man Lee – by far one of the funniest guys you’ll ever meet. He wasn’t prepared with a speech but he wrote one up in 5 minutes. It was so funny and honest!
“I met him in the police academy about five years ago. When I first met him he talked like this… “Hey, Let’s get in my cahh and go grab some beeyahhs.” (Mr. Apple is from Boston, MA) After having lived in Texas and working in “the hood” for a while he now talks like this…”Hey fool, lets go in my ride and go get some 40′s.” He is like a brother to me. Alot of people complain about their wives, girlfriends, or significant others but when it is all said and done… this right here is the meaning of love.” ( I didn’t understand the last line but we think he meant well.) haha.
My Maid of Honor Susan – she told me she was going to just going to “wing it” but she had pages of sweet things to say about our friendship. By the bottom of page one, I was really trying not to cry too hard.
“…Her independence and love for life can only be described as limitless…andnd her love and care for others as endless. I believe that we are all meant to have certain people in our lives; they make us who we are today. Our families, friends, and loved ones… and I thank you Miss Apple for being apart of my life….Never have I seen her happier with anyone else. I’ve also never seen anyone treat her with the utmost respect and care that she deserves.”
Mr. and Mrs. Apple saying goodbye for now.
